The famous "Honest Jake" Steinberg was the operator of the Dingos' post-game Beer Fund for as long as most Dingos could remember. However, before his retirement in 2014, Jaker did much more than simply sling the suds - Honest Jake racked up over 150 games for the club, dating back to 2002 when he first donned the Red & Black.
Never dominant on the field, Jake nevertheless was one of the most passionate and proud Dingos to ever join the club. He was always one of the first to volunteer to help out the team. This dedication earned him the Clubman Award in both 2002 and 2011. Feeling this distinction was inadequate to fully honour Jake's commitment, the Dingos Executive in 2012 voted to rename the Clubman Award as the "Steinberg" Award, the first time an annual award was dedicated to a player.
