Reserves Coaches Report
Unusual sunny day as we made or way to Mulgrave and their ground as perfect, we had secured top 2 on the ladder so our position was in concrete however our theme was to tick the box of playing well and continue our momentum. Kicking into a 3-4 goal breeze in the 1st we managed to win the qtr as we had most of the play. The 2nd we were dominant kicking 3 goals 5 to go into the break 5 goals up although the scoreboard was in our favour we at times looked a little ragged with our structure. The 3rd was much better for us as our game plan was back in line with expectations and in the last we booted 5 goals to win by 62 points. Once more we had such an even contribution across the group Backs, Forwards, Mid’s. There is excitement for this week as play Boronia for a place in the GF, their a tough side and we will need to play well which I’m confident our group will to grab their chance. Thanks to all the supporters who came along, see you next week.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we travelled out to Mulgrave, a win would see us sew up a position in the finals with a potential top 2 spot achievable. We kicked with the aid of the breeze in the first quarter and we were able to use the ball well going forward to open up a 32 point lead at ¼ time. The 2nd quarter was a tight struggle as we managed to bottle up the game for most of the quarter, however we conceded to quick late goals allowing Mulgrave to close the gap to 25 points at half time. In the 3rd quarter we continued to use the ball well allowing our forwards some good opportunities and we extended our lead to 51 points at the last change. The last quarter was much like the 2nd quarter as we did a good job of slowing down the game against the breeze, as Mulgrave were able to trim the final margin of 48 points. Jake Parente was outstanding kicking 7 goals and sewing up the lead goal kicking award, a fantastic achievement given he missed 5 games. Riley Nicholas continued his brilliant form down back repelling a number of attacks. Unfortunately results didn’t fall our way meaning we finished 3rd and we have a date with Heathmont in an elimination final. Congratulations to our reserves and under 19’s team who both finished 2nd a fantastic achievement by Steve Jordan and Mark Brindley to lead their respective teams into a semi final.
Thanks to everyone who came out to watch us this week we really appreciate your continual support, we hope to see all our supporters out at East Burwood on Sunday to help get us across the line.
