Round 10 of EFL footy had the Tigers taking on The Chirnside Park Panthers at home and while it was great to see Chirnside with a clash jumper not quite sure why they wear black shorts away??? Never the less the under 19s started in foggy conditions and recorded a work man like 6 goal win over a spirited panthers outfit while the reserves was all one way traffic running out 100 point winners. The Seniors did what they had to and won by 19 points but the coach wasnt pleased with the way the boys finished out the game - The good news is theres room for plenty of improvement.

Under 19s Coach Report
Our boys played Chirnside for the second time in three weeks. Chirnside fought extremely hard and used their pace to play a quick run and carry style of footy which meant our use of the footy had to be spot on. We started well with our mids hard at the footy not giving the opposition the chance to win the clearances. Our delivery forward was somewhat frustrating but our guys made the most of their opportunities and were able to kick a winning score. Our backline were again solid with Bobby Burden and Nathan Foster both playing their best games of the year and Mick Barro stepping into CHB also played a crucial role for the team in Nuggets absence. Ryan Sullivan, Sam Brindley, Josh Doidge and Mikey Raath were also fantastic over four quarters.
Special thanks to Robin George who stepped in as our trainer once again and Paul George who filled in for Bluey Snr doing the boundary. Apparently it takes a lot of courage to be a boundary umpire but obviously even more to back it up when you have a slight injury. We wish Bluey all the best for a speedy recovery and hope to have him back on the park Saturday. Big game again this week v Park Orchards who will be out for some revenge after last week’s loss. Look forward to seeing everyone at Walker Park before we head off to support the Ressies and Seniors at Heathmont. Three good wins for the club..three weeks in a row. Let's continue the great form!

Reserves Coach Report
We had our first 4 quarter performance for the year to win comfortably against a side that hasn’t been travelling that well with 1 win for the season. Our purpose was to come ready with the right attitude and that would see us get the right result. We had our best start of the year kicking 5 goals and were clearly playing better footy than them across all the stats. Our ability to lower the eyes and hit the short kick was terrific allowing us to use overlap run through the corridor, the boys finished the job with a strong last quarter to win by 100 points. Tyler Arrowsmith across half forward was super taking a number of marks and kicking a couple of goals, Bluey continued his form kicking 3 whilst his work rate on the ball was terrific, Aaron Menzies gave us great run from half back and with his foot skills hit the target all day, Chris Whitchell racked up possessions all day on the ball and was definitely in our best. There is still plenty to work on for our group as Heathmont this week will be a tough test at their ground, thanks to all supporters that came down to watch the two’s, see you all next week.
Reserves Coach Steve Jordan.
Senior Coach Report
This week we came up against Chirnside Park who although they sat in last position on the ladder their results against the other top 4 teams had seen them lose by no more than 20 points, so we knew this wouldn't be a walk in the park. Our first quarter was very good with us bringing a tackling intensity and controlling the play for most of the quarter, we were able to keep them scoreless but didn't quite take full tole on the scoreboard kicking 3.4. The second quarter saw us start slowly and concede 3 goals in a 3 minute period which was disappointing, we did respond after that and kicked the last 4 goals to go in with a 30 point lead. The 3rd quarter was very scrappy with our kicking going inside 50 letting us down badly, we were able to kick 2 goals and keep them goalless. The last quarter saw us turn in our worst quarter of footy for the season, our work rate dropped right off as did our defensive pressure and we continually turned the ball over going forward. We conceded 6 goals and only managed 2 ourselves to end up with a 19 point win. Rob Petracca was fantastic all day with his strong work around the packs and Leigh Warne was a rock down back. Thanks to all the supporters who came out to the game and Then back to Nickos later that night, I promise you will see a much better performance next week.
