Pre-season training has been in full swing in recent weeks with plenty of old and new faces. We'd love to see you at Kiloran Reserve (Hawthory Road, Kilsyth) on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 17 from 6pm for a barbecue and catch-up before the Christmas break.
In 2015, the teams will be following a pre season training program written by Tom Couch (pictured left). Tom played three games for Melbourne in 2011-12, he now plays for Collingwood’s VFL side and is also part of their strength and conditioning team. From his training experiences at the elite level of the AFL, and his knowledge as a Exercise and Sports Science student, Tom has designed a 14-week pre season training program for local football clubs. In 2014, this program was used by a number of clubs, including Norwood, which claimed the EFL division 1 premiership, and Geelong Football League premiers Leopold.
Tom will be making his way down to explain the program to all players. He will also be providing players with handout that contains training sessions for the festive season to gain some base fitness before we return in late January. As well as Tom’s information session, we would love to see everybody there for a barbecue and a beer to celebrate Christmas.
Whether players have been training over the last five weeks or not, we would like to see you all there for this very important session.
Look forward to seeing you all.
