Steve Roach speaks about Tom Hafey

Football legend Tom Hafey passed away last week and the football community Australia-wide has been full of both sadness and nostalgia.

A journalist wrote earlier in the week, that “everyone has a memory of Tommy”.  Most of us at Mooroolbark Football Club can say the same, as we were lucky enough to have Tom visit our club several times. It’s rare to see children sit up and hang on every word, like they did with Tom in our rooms, such was his passion and interest in all things footy.

Steve Roach was featured in an article in the herald Sun last Sunday and reflected on the beginnings of his friendship with Tom, that went on to last a lifetime.

Our condolences to Steve Roach at such a difficult time.

Rest in Peace Tom Hafey.
