It seems to be the week of the glove this week with a couple of Ingle Farm ladies donning the gloves at training.
Gloves were a big topic of discussion by the AFL at the start of last year, who banned 6 brands of gloves after a report found that they provided an "unfair grip advantage."
Ingle Farm can assure SAWFL that the gloves in this case has nothing to do with providing an unfair grip advantage but rather vanity and stupidity.
IFWFC old timer Teresa donned the gloves on Wednesday not for an injury, not to keep her hands warm, but because she had her nails done!
Good old Bridget on the other hand should never have been given the ok the use knives, cutting her finger open whilst making soup. Yes, making soup! (Ok, cutting a carrot to make soup, but still...). 4 stitches later and the glove must come on.
Bridget has worked hard all off-season on her kick, getting help and advice from Clancey, and the team has seen marked improvement in her technique and accuracy. All we can hope is that with the first game on Saturday Bridget doesn't start shanking her kicks like fellow glove wearer Travis Cloke...
