2019 Championship Season Champions, Lightning break Jets streak in dominate display.
BACK TO BACK: Lightning has claimed the 2019 Championship Season Cup after a 53-43 win over TV Jets.
Lightning broke Jets’ winning streak last season and tonight the side couldn’t be contained - firing out the gates and leading all four quarters.
The Jets managed to claw their way back into the game toward the end of the final quarter however solid defence and poise under pressure saw the Lightning power away to a comfortable victory.
The win gave Lightning their second Championship season title, the first coming exactly 10 years ago with 4 players from that side, juniors at the time, Claire O'Bryan, Sarah Carbone, Lauren Barnes and Claire Bracey, proudly holding aloft the Cup once again.
