6 NEXT STEPS
- Formation of 4 teams for an indoor competition (4 teams of 5 minimum requires 20 members with possibility of 2 reserves out of membership of 30 who have played). G Lee pointed out that a current competition would be essential for publicity and necessary before a launch in Bendigo for lacrosse (to be arranged in partnership with Sports Focus).
Ex-players who have offered to coach each of the teams:
Neville Bell
Peter Jeffrey
Chris Robinson
Darren Sexton
Referee: Gino Iuliano
- Possible winter team 2008:
Discussion of clash with Saturday Ice Hockey led to a suggestion of Sunday games with LV subsiding bus travel for Melbourne based teams who visit Bendigo. Women’s Lacrosse in Melbourne is scheduled for Sundays any way. Games in the Bendigo Region would promote the sport and assist development o numbers in Indoor Competitions
Meeting concluded with congratulations from John Harris who emphasised that Lacrosse Victoria was only supporting this first regional lacrosse development because of the initiative and enthusiasm of members such as those present at this meeting. He wished them well and offered LV support for the on-going development of governance and participatory activities of the BLA.
Neville to advise members of the next meeting of the BLA
Meeting concluded at 8pm
