Talking Cats back on air for 2011
Talking Cats, the region's only dedicated AFL radio program, will be back on air on 2MNO next month as part of the Cooma Cats’ efforts to bring AFL to more people across the Snowy Mountains and the Monaro,
Launched last season on Community Radio 2MNO, Talking Cats quickly won itself a loyal audience on Sunday evening interested in all things AFL.
Cats' Club President Dave Paterson said Talking Cats was an exciting venture for the club.
"In partnership with the great people at 2MNO, we will again bring local AFL footy news and views to footy fans new and old across the region," Dave said.
"Our club is all about being part of the community, and Talking Cats is another way we can keep the community up to date with what we're doing in 2010," he said. “The Cats are a community and family focused club, one that everyone can be proud of.”
Talking Cats will again be hosted by Cats' publicity officer Rob Barnes and go to air on Sunday evenings at 7pm.
"The aim of the show is not just to update our supporters about how the Cats are going on the field each week, but to also talk about the role of AFL footy in the community and its contribution to the region since the club's establishment in 1976 and into the future," Rob said.
Talking Cats will again have a number of regular segments in each program, including feature interviews with local AFL identities from the past and present, a round-up of club news and events, and of course detailed analysis of the Cats' on-field performances.
This year, in response to popular demand, the program will also feature an “album of the week”.
Cats' President Dave Paterson invited anyone with a connection or interest in AFL to tune in and enjoy the program, and join the Cats' on their journey to bring AFL to the region.
Talking Cats on 2MNO at 7pm Sunday evenings: 90.5FM in Cooma; 93.3FM on the Monaro; 93.9FM in Jindabyne and 103.7FM in Bombala.
