A few big dates are approaching so gather together your friends and your pennies for your enjoyment and some excellent causes, the Club is supporting (more details will be provided regarding start times for each event, but plan on 1.00PM for the first two and 7.00PM for the Presentation Night.
Charity Day - The Club has a strong history of supporting charities and beneficiary this season will be the Victor Chang Institute. Named for the famous surgeon, the Institute undertakes research into this all important area of cardiac research. We have beautiful new jumpers for the Senior Team and these will be auctioned after the game. Again the location is the Club House and the Date is 12 July. It is a great cause and so bring yourselves and your wallet / purse / child's endowment or the like.
The jumpers look great ... you know you want one ... Numbers 1 - 23 will be available, more news on bidding in the auction will be in the newsletter.
Ladies Day - Down at the Club house on 16 August 2014 Ladies Day will be the time to attend and celebrate the involvement of teh women in the Club, from our brand new team to the fantastic mother girlfriends and wives that make our Club run. The bar will be pumping with fizz flowing and a great game of footy to watch. For those fortunate enought to have children we will also run a small creche on the day, to free up those celebrating for an hour or two (maybe even longer if we can arrange it).
Marston Medal (Presentation Night) - This black tie event is the chance to celebrate another season in the history of the Club, while we are now very proudly the Manly Warringah GIANTS, that does not change the awards and the history of partying into the night. Who will win the awards, will we again have Premierships to celebrate ... who nows ? What is certain is:
- Harry will tell us of our proud history
- Lethal and Dawn will be the best looking couple
- Russell will wear the same shirt he has worn to the last three Medal nights
- Razzle will tell the story of Louis wearing sandshoes and slipping over taking that crucial shot for goal
This year the night is at Lizzotes at Dee Why and will be held on 3 October (before a raft of players head off for the USA end of season trip). This is the gala event of the season, so make sure it is in your diary and your significant other is also advised.
