The chances of the Manly Wolves Under 18s improving on its two recent second-placed finishes have been given a big boost with Louis Cannatelli signing as Coach for Season 2013.
A Level 2 accredited coach, Cannatelli has solid experience behind him, having coached for the past 6 years at senior levels at the Manly Wolves and junior levels at the Manly Bombers. More recently, in 2012 Cannatelli coached the Manly U-16s side and the successful North U-16s Representative side, so he is well positioned having coached many of the players coming through.
“I just feel that with the talent coming up from our junior clubs to join the strong current squad, it’s a really exciting time for this group. Obviously I was keen to be a part of that”, he said. “There’s no doubt that with plenty of hard work, we can not only have a very successful season in 2013 but build the future of the Manly Wolves at the senior level.”
According to Football Director Rich Wharton the Under 18s is in good hands, “There’s a huge opportunity for this squad in 2013 and we know Louis will leave no stone unturned. Louis is a passionate guy and like everything, he’ll throw plenty of energy into this role and he’ll be terrific with the players.
“Louis is right on board with our club’s philosophy of building for the future and that means focusing on individual development, at whatever level each player is at. It’s really about teaching and getting the best out of the players and in the end, the results will look after themselves.”
Louis takes on the role from Kevin Morgan who had a great year in 2012, leading the Wolves to a Grand Final position. Due to work commitments, Kevin will continue with the Under 18s in 2013 in an assistant capacity.
Training continues for the Under 18s every Tuesday and Thursday at Adams/Abbott St Curl Curl from 6:00pm. All details will be updated at www.manlyafl.com
