Warrigals Women Back into Battle in 2011

The Bribie Island Warrigals are pleased to announce that incumbent Queensland Women’s Barbarians coach, Pete Shefford, will return for his second year as coach of the Warrigals Women’s Open side in season 2011.

Shefford, a former National touch football coach, took the side for their inaugural season in the Brisbane & Districts Women’s (BDWRL) competition, missing the finals in their first year by a mere points differential. He also coached the South Wide Bay Under 18 Girls, and the Queensland Women’s Barbarians sides last season, both of which were fortunate to contain a solid contingent of Bribie Island players.

Shefford is a former Riverina schoolboys, Victorian Universities, and Group 13 representative. He has played in Group 13 (NSW), Melbourne Metro (VIC) and the Townsville & District (QLD) competitions.

The club will be holding official sign-on days on January 15th & 22nd January (more details to follow), with pre-season for the Womens side scheduled to start early-mid February. Player queries may be directed to the club on email: warrigals@warrigalsrugbyleague.com.au

The Warrigals are the only established Women’s Open team between Caloundra & Brisbane southside;and NEW PLAYERS ARE MOST WELCOME!
