Goannas Gallant in Defeat

Grenfell Goannas played at home last Sunday against the Trundle Boomers who are one of the favourites of the competition and came within an inch of a very big upset. Trundle and Grenfell felt each other out early with heavy defence from both sides the Boomers were expecting a fairly easy win but were quickly sparked into action when things weren’t going to plan.more

Cargo overpower Grenfell

The Goannas went into the match with a new look outfit and have been struggling for numbers of late but were given a real boost when five Molong players became Goannas after their side had to pull out of the comp.

The Cargo side went into the match as long odds-on favourites and were going to be a real handful for the Goannas.

Peak Hill claw Grenfell Goannas

The Grenfell Goannas converge on a Peak Hill Rooster as he struggles valiantly to reach the tryline during the Roosters big win over the Goannas at Lawson Park last Sunday.

Grenfell went into this match a bit underdone. Injuries early in the season have hit hard making it difficult to field a side. Peak Hill got away to a flying start and put three tries on Grenfell before they knew what hmore

Girlannas defeat Eugowra 30 -10 in season opener

The Girlannas hit the field with determination to start the season on a high. The mix of previous players and an injection of a few younger legs made all the difference.

Eugowra have been a dominant team in Women’s League Tag since the competition started and the plan for the day was to match them on the field.

With the game now running 25 minutes each half this gave the Girlannas time tomore


This week we were able to field a full side plus two reserves. Anna Brenner was in her usual fantastic form with good attack runs resulting in two tries for the day.

Prue Hancock teamed with Anna to run in a good 40 metre try, Danica broke the line with her athletic frame squeezing in between two defenders while young Lindsay Mitton showed speed running the length of the field to score.more

The Albion Hotel has once again shown its support by taking on the Major Sponsors roll. The Goannas Club will make a great effort to have a big season on and off the field and with the support of the Albion we should all make this happen.



Grenfell Goannas have reached another milestone notching up 1000 points for the 2010 Woodbridge Cup season.
The Goannas took their tally to 1004 points after accounting for defending premiers Cargo Blue Heelers 34-22 at Cargo Oval.
After securing the minor premiership against Koorawatha, there were no signs of complacency from the Justin Gunn lead outfit.more
