2008 PRESENTATION NIGHT

2008 Presentation Night

The Manton brothers, James and Robert, had a very successful night winning a combined total of six awards.  Grandsons of the legendery, Bronc Jones, James took home the First Grade Best & Fairest, Players' Player and Best Non-Contract Player awards and Robert won the Under 16's Best & Fairest and Players' Player trophy as well as the coveted Hawthorne Shield.

A crowd of about 130 players, family and supporters turned out for the 2008 Presentation night as the home of the Tigers major sponsor, the Gundagai District Services Club.  Besides the awards to players, the club also recognised long serving committee-man Mick Wheeler, who was awarded life membership of the Gundagai District Rugby League Football Club.

Mick is renowned throughout Group 9 as a hard working and efficient administrator.  Mick proudly accepted his life membership.  Mick follows in the footsteps of his father, Reg, who is also a life member.  Reg has since passed on, which makes this award a very special and proud achievement for Mick.

Clubperson of the Year went to the hard-working Phil Smith.  Rookie of the Year was awarded to Ben Reardon.
