LATEST TIGER TALES

With the Tigers taking their home game to Adelong on Sunday and the temperature of the day not reaching into the high teens there was a really healthy crowd to watch the tigers take 3 out of 4 games. Unfortunately the League Tag girls went down to the Tumba girls. Hopefully our girls can get a few more numbers so they can start playing on a full field which I think will help their game.

The under 18’s boys kept their opponents scoreless. It was good to see a few boys step up due to first grade commitments and injuries to some boys. Sullivan Cup players Sam Lindley, Mark Ford-Stokes and Zac Stelter stepped up and all playing well.

Reserve Grade also kept Tumba scoreless, there were a fair few positives to come out of the game particularly with the form of Matt Ridley and Chris Rainbow. Reserve Grade’s biggest test will be this Sunday against last year’s premiers Albury.

First grade came away with their third victory from as many games still missing Brandt Preston, Chris Rose and Matt Ward. The boys probably did not have their best of games with a fair bit of spilt ball during the game, a big positive was Rick Judd playing game number 1 in the top grade.

BIDGEE BULLS

Great Effort for the Bigdee Bulls team taking out the country championships defeating Western Rams 30-22, with all Tigers players Tyron Gorman, Blake Dean, Jarrod Crane & Dane O'Hehir playing well.

TOOWOOMBA BOUND

A big congratulations to Dane O'Hehir and Blake Dean on gaining selection in the under 18 country side which will play QLD in Toowoomba in July. Great effort boys, the whole club is very proud of your efforts!

THANKS

A big thanks to all who helped out on Sunday, it was great to see. I see the coffee was the most popular beverage of the day with it keeping Hope Cooper on her toes all day. Also a big pat on the back to the hard working ladies in the canteen serving up some delicious hot food all day on what was a chilli day.

The Rat Remains:

Unfortunately for Jarrod Crane injury got in the way of him making his first grade debut, on a positive note for Butters he escaped a much needed haircut from our senior players. The boys planned to have those rats tails growing off the back of his head removed before making the top grade. Jarrod tells us the ladies love the hair style but if his form at the beginning of the year is anything to go by his time will come. Stepping into his position was Rick Judd and I thought he was outstanding in his debut, a true testament to hard work.

Good Luck to all grades on Sunday, Albury being the hardest road trip of the group, Tigers will have to be at their best to win, but the Roarer is confident they can do it.
