Juniors Registrations in 2017 (Under 10s to 18s)

Step by step guide

 

 

 

Step 1:  Understand the key dates for 2017

The key dates for 2017 are as follows:

  • Registrations open on Monday, 16 January
  • Registrations close on Sunday, 26th March 2017
  • The Juniors Coaches and Managers Meeting will be held on 26th April @ Raiders Weston Club 7:30-8:15pm. A Special general Meeting will then be held 8:15pm-9:00pm straight afterwards.
  • gear pickup from the Chapman Lockup 26,27,28th April 7-9 pm
  • The season will commence on Saturday, 6th May 2017

 

Step 2:  Decide the appropriate age group to register

WMFC runs mixed and girls competitions in the under 6s to 9s age groups:

  • Mixed competitions for players aged 10 to 18
  • Girls’ competitions for players aged 10 to 18

Depending on numbers, there may not be under 15s and 17s teams. Players in these ages should register in the under 16s and 18s packages. 

Children should generally be registered in the age group they are turning in 2017.  That is:

Step 3:  Register online with the My Football Website 

You can register online at the My Football Club website: www.myfootballclub.com.au

There is a guide to assist you register with WMFC’s MiniRoos through the My Football Club website (the WMFC My Football Club Registration Guide 2016).

The cost for registering a player in the under 10s to 18s age groups in 2016 is as follows:

If you register after 26 March, your registration will only be accepted if there is a place on a team.

If you are eligible for a family discount, you must register players individually online and submit your application for a family discount through the Family discount application form.  You should send the completed form to treasurer@wmfc.org.au.

You will be reimbursed the difference between what you have paid online through My Football Club, and your relevant package after you submit the form.

 

Step 4:  Attend preseason training 

Skill acquisition phase (under 10s to 13s, including under 10s and 11s girls)

Preseason training will commence for all children in the skill acquisition phase in the secondweek of February 2017.

Girls in age groups under 12s and up

For girls in ages under 12s and up, preseason training will commence on Tuesday 14th February 2017. 

The program will run each Tuesday and Thursday throughout the preseason from 5.00pm to 6.15 pm at the Waramanga Playing Fields.

Game training phase and up (under 14s to 18s)

The coaches and managers for teams in the under 14s to under 18s age groups will arrange preseason training for their teams. 

Players in these teams will be contacted directly about preseason training.

 

Step 5:  Attend grading sessions 

Skill acquisition phase (under 10s to 13s)

For children in the under 10s to 13s age groups, grading will be held over four one-hour sessions in February 2016 at the Waramanga Playing Fields.

On Sunday, 7, 14, and 21 February, the times for the Sunday sessions are:

  • Under 10s mixed and girls at 9.00 am
  • Under 11s mixed and girls at 10.15 am
  • Under 12s and 13s mixed at 11.30 am

On Thursday, 25 February 2016, the session times are:

  • Under 10s mixed and girls at 4.00 pm
  • Under 11s mixed and girls at 5.15 pm
  • Under 12s and 13s mixed at 6.30 pm

Players must attend at least two grading sessions, although they are encouraged to attend all sessions. 

Game training phase and up (under 14s to 18s)

For players in the under 14s to 18s age groups, grading will only be arranged if there are more than one team in the relevant age group.  If grading is necessary, it will be held in early March 2016.  

 

Step 6: Get ready for kick off!

The first game of the season will be held on Saturday, 6 May 2017. 

Competitions for ages under 10s and up are home and away, with home games played at the Waramanga Playing Fields. 

Draws will be available on the Capital Football page of the Fox Sports Pulse website closer to the start of the season.
