FOOTBALL4ALL

Football4All is a modified football program catering for individuals with special needs regardless of their ability, skill level or past football experience, providing an opportunity to participate and enjoy a fun and enjoyable club based social sporting activity.

In 2017, Football4All was introduced at Lake Macquarie Football Club with the support of Northern NSW Football and Macquarie Football and has run successfully throughout the 2017 and 2018 football seasons.

Football4All is for individuals with special needs aged between 6-16 who want to have fun and be part of a team with a community sporting club.

Our Focus

To provide an opportunity for all individuals to participate in an all-inclusive program where they are supported and encouraged. All individuals benefit from physical activity, social interaction and enjoy the activities in a fun, safe and non-competitive environment, which the game of football facilitates.

Games are played on smaller fields, supported by of our game-leaders with a light-hearted approach to the core rules and are designed to be both interesting and challenging without exceeding player’s ability.

At Football4All Lake Macquarie, our game leaders will assist and support each individual to get the most out of each session. Parents/carers are encouraged to participate and support their child when and if needed. We ensure that the Football4All environment is very inclusive and family focussed and we welcome the involvement of siblings and friends.

Parent/Carer participation

Game leaders/volunteers of Football4All Lake Macquarie Football Club are game facilitators, parent/carer participation is vital for this program to run successfully. Depending on each child’s needs and abilities, parents/carers will be asked to participate in the program with their child or at the very least remain at the field for the duration of the session (approx. 45 minutes). If your player is using a service provider to access this activity, that is welcomed, however the same expectations apply.

It is the responsibility of parents/carers to assess and seek professional advice on any medical conditions that limit the player’s participation.
