The Swans remain winless at home, as they were unable to win against one of the top sides in the league.
The final score for the game was SWANS 5.9.39, Rebels 9.11.65. While the Swans did not walk away with the win, they were competitive. The backline stood tall and did their part to keep Rebel goals under double digits. Powelly worked hard in the forward line, ensuring that at half time the Swans were still very much in the game. Woodsy snapped a wonderful goal in the opening few minutes of the third, but that was not enough to shift the momentum in the Swans favor. “I have no doubt or question about the effort. Clearly you are working your backsides off to win for the Swans”, said Coach Rod to his players. At the end of the day, the Swans fell to a strong team. Moving forward, the lessons learned from this game coupled with strong commitment to training the Swans will be ready for the Blues in Round 4 and a win at home.
Round 4 goes this Saturday June 14th at the Rideau Carleton Raceway. The Lady Swans will kick-off their home opener at 1 pm, followed by the Men’s. Both teams will be taking on the Central Blues.
