MUSTANGS CANT BE BROKEN

And so the season comes to an end with losses to the Mustangs out at Mooroolbark. After a promising start to the season we dropped away dramatically in the last six weeks. It is with deep regret that I inform our members and supporters that Wayne Lowe passed away late last night after an extremely brave battle with cancer. Some would say two outa 3 aint bad but we missed the seniors THIS WEEK going down to Mulgrave in a tight tussle. Under 19s and Reserves faired a lot better both recording strong victories. It’s a brutal game Aussie Rules footy and when we added Pimmy and J Hoegel before the game to an already very long and growing injury list, it would have been easy for our guys to say NO chance against a Mooroolbark side that had plenty to play for. The Mitcham Football Club are deeply saddened by the news that Fiona Gilchrist passed away peacefully after a long and very brave battle with cancer.

Under grey skies The under 19s were out muscled by a bigger, stronger and far more aggressive Hawks outfit going down by 49 points. Mitcham made the short trip down Park road this week to take on Park Orchards in the two clubs first ever clash. A mixed bag of results for the Mitcham Boys this week against The Boronia Hawks in Round 5. A very undermanned U19’s side fought hard all day to fall short by only 7 points after being down by 32 points at ¾ time.
