Umpire training

Kiwi Whistlers 2017

The Kiwi Whistler programme is designed to train Year 8 netball players who wish to learn to umpire.

It is a 12-week programme with 6 weeks theory and a winter session practical umpiring Year 6 games on Saturday mornings.  The theory course is held at Northland School with a practical session at Karori Recreation Centre. To complete the course participants must be available for the full 12 week programme.

There are two intakes for Kiwi Whistlers:

Term 1

  • Tuesdays 7th March - 4th April @ Northland School Hall
  • Time: 4pm - 5pm
  • Practical session: Tuesday 11th April. Time: 4-6pm - Karori Recreation Centre

Kiwi Whistlers will need a mentor to support them while umpiring.  The mentor should have a good knowledge of netball and umpiring so they can offer feedback at breaks.
