SENIOR COACHING POSTION – SEASON 2020
The Upwey-Tecoma Football Netball Club seeks applicationsfor the role of Men’s Senior Head Coach (Playing or Non-Playing) for the 2020 season and onwards.
The successful applicant will manage the on-field development and performance of the Senior squad in the Premier Division of the AFL Outer East competition, with a holistic approach to ensure continued developmentof underage players coming through the system, reinforcing and further developingthe Club’s strong culture.
Applicants will demonstrate outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a developed knowledge and expertise in building a high-performance team environment.
The successful applicant will:
- be Level 2 AFL Coaching Accredited (or completing)
- have previous coaching experience at a high level or playing experience in a strong environment with transferable coaching skills
- teach and implement a Club wide strategic game style and playing philosophy
- be dedicated to achieving continuous improvement in individuals and the team through honest feedback and education
- be ready to lead a team of assistant and development coaches
- implement values and behaviours for a winning culture on and off field
- be able to strongly assist in players recruitment
- be motivated to put your stamp on the future success of the Club as its Head Coach

The Club
TheUpwey-TecomaFootball Netball Clubhas spent one year in the Premier Division of the newly formed AFL Outer East (a merger of the AFL Yarra Ranges and South East Football Leagues) having previously been the most successful team over the 52-yearhistory of the Yarra Ranges league. We seek to establish a similar position within the AFL Outer East competition.
The Club has a state of the art $3.5m facility (opened 2018) which includes gymnasium, multi-purpose indoor space,meeting and coaches rooms, video analysis equipment etc along with new oval lighting and an electronic scoreboard to be installed before the 2020 season. It is home to Senior, Reserves and Under 18 Mens football teams, 4 Netball teams and 2 Womens football teams. Our Junior Club has a further 10 feeder teams.The Club has a strong and committed committee and volunteer base and is financially stable.
Our intention is to be the destination club for Premier Football in our area of the AFL OE and we welcome the opportunity for any non-playing or playing coach to work together with us to achieve this objective.
