01.07.17 v JERILDERIE
I hope you all have your tables organised for tonights TFNC Trivia Night. Always guaranteed to have a great time at this annual event. This year's event is going to be a tad different to previous years with an updated version of trivia. This will test the technological talents of some of our players. Make sure you inform Sarah of your intentions to attend tonight if you haven't already done so.
Great efforts by the club last week against Berrigan coming away with wins in all grades of netball and football bar two games. It was also fantastic to see the attendance of our players and supporters at the Terminus Hotel after the game for our awards supporting one of our match day sponsors. Thanks JB for your hospitality.
Milestones -Congratulations to two of our up and coming junior netballers - Molly Reid and Georgia Stoate - playing their 1st A Grade game against Berrigan last week. This is an amazing effort considering both girls play in our Under 15's netball team. Well done girls and we all look forward to watching you both into the future. Congratulations to Aden Donnell - playing his 100th club game this week, another great achievement considering Aden plays in our Under 17's team. Congratulations to Kelly Baldwin who plays her 50th C Grade game this week. Well done Kelly. Great achievements all round with our milestones over the past couple of weeks.
Under 14's -The younger boys were given the opportunity to play in key positions last week against Berrigan and grab it with both hands they all did, enjoying this opportunity from coach Bob, whilst being well supported by the older boys. Well done boys, another week closer.
Under 17's - Great game from the boys - three in a row!! The boys are getting better each week. Playing as a team and doing the little things for each other. The boys that played in defence were solid - the run out of the backline was fantastic.
Reserves - The twos taking on finalists Berrigan, struggled early on again conceding four first quarter goals to nil at the first change. We were overrun and the Saints took a 33-point half time lead. The Bloods were better after half time losing the last half by only 2 points.
Seniors -Another season defining match loomed for both clubs with the winner closer to securing a finals spot.
The game started with a lot of pressure with both teams finding scoring opportunities hard to come by. Finally the Bloods were able to score three late goals to set up what would become a match winning 28-point lead at the first break.
The Toc boys wasted some opportunities with four behinds whilst the Saints kicked three goals for the quarter, the Bloods securing a 25-point lead at the half time break. After half time the Bloods struck early with Ollie Rennie slotting a set shot from 50 out and the Bloods surged to a 36-point lead at the final break.
The last quarter was dour with the physical pressure of the game taking its toll, the Saints won the last quarter by 5 points - Toc finally 31-point winners.
QUOTE - "Champions keep playing until they get it right."
