Deb Ball 2012

Saturday 14th April was the Annual Deb Ball for United.

Ist Deb for the season and a great way to kick off a big year for the club.

Thanks to Carolyn Duffy and KAtie Walters who did a wonderful job of the entire deb. The Harry Potter theme was terrific and those little wizards where fantastic. Well done ladies great effort.

Well done to all the Debs as well. Very well behaved and terrific bunch of kids.

Top night.

They're BACK!!!!!!

Thats right. As of next week the Darwin connection will return. Lead by none other that D J White himself. At the moment we are unsure about Marvyns where abouts but hopefully he will return.

Returning along with DJ this year will be  Troy Parker. Troy played with Marty Shady in Whitchy last year and will be a very handy player once again for us.

If you were watching the night games and the Macorna practice match you would have seen Johnny Bastin wearing No. 3. He is coming to us from the Maryborough league. No. 11 in the pre season games was Matt Duffy. He is the son of Pedro Duffy and comes to us from Darwin as well. Linc Sullivan will jooin us from Nagambie and formerly South Bendigo. Jack Whickham and Jack O'Shaughnessy will join us from the NT league where they have been playing in the Southern Districts club. Great to have the boys in the club.

Keep our eyes pealed there could be more comings and goings.

Theres still a week before footy.

Macorna Practice Match

Last Saturday United travelled down to Macorna for a scratch match in the Netball and Football.

Thanks very much to the Macorna club for their hospitality on the dya. It was a really great turn out for both clubs.

The netballers didn't keep scores but had a good pre season work out against their girls.

In the footy we had to borrow a couple from them to fill a full team and these boys played well for us. Much appreciated.

A good mixture of Colts, Reserves and Seniors participated - a couple of the recruits were able to play as well which was a good training run for them and Coaches Ash Thompson and Marty Shadbolt to see how they perform. We had players travel from Bendigo as well which was terrific.

Things are starting to take shape for a good year. So dont forget to get your membership of club shirts organised now.

Go Demons.
