18's Down in Grand Final

Cove 18's went down to flagstaff Hill yesterday by 50 points. Flaggies kicking with the wind a 4 to 5 goal breeze made the most of it and kicked 5 goals to Cove nil. Cove wasted opportunity in the 2nd with poor disposal allowing Flaggies to kick 4 important goals into the wind while only kicking 3. 18's defeat Brighton

18's defeated Brighton in preliminary final. In a tight game the 18's got up by 4 points to win through to the Grand Final Saturday 22nd September. In a great game the boys fought it out to the end. Jack Noble with Jake Lane were fantastic with great carry and run, Alex Shaw played like a veteran commanding the ball and using it well, the Butler-Chasling brothers were live wires up forward.more

A GRADE OUT

A Grade went down fighting on Sunday. Under manned in the height dept. Cove youngsters fought the game out. After losing Rama early in the game to a horrific injury the Cobras fought the game out almost snatching an unlikley win. C' GRADE PREMIERS 2012

What a cracking game of footy. BDOS got off to a flyer 3 goals to nil before the Cobras came to life. In a game that ebbed and flowed the Cobras hit the front at 1/2 time to lead by 2 points. BDOS lead by 13 points at 3/4 time before Cove came steaming home in the last to win by a goal. Young Seirch was great in the last to get the Cobras back, Thommo was a rock, Shambles dominated the ruck.more

C Grade GRAND FINAL 2012

Week 2 see three COBRA teams in Action commencing with the Under 16's at Noarlunga on Saturday COVE v Brighton at 9.35 a.m. Saturday Night sees the first big one for the year C Grade Grand Final COVE v Brighton @ Happy Valley 7.00 p.m. Sunday the A Grade are in Action at Aldinga COVE v Noarlunga @ 2.30 p.m. Get along and support the boys. FINALS ROUND 1

Weekend of 1/2 September saw a mixed result and great spring footy weather. Saturday saw 18's win straight through to Prelim Final. Sunday saw 14's and B's Eliminated 16's and A's survived to fight another day. Both will play qualifying finals next week 16's Saturday @ Norlaunga. A's Sunday @ Aldinga. C's Saturday night @ Happy Valley Grand Final @ 7.00 p.m.more

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

FINALS TIME is here again. Cove has all Saturday sides participating in finals along with C grade who have won their first final. First week of finals see teams playing Saturday and Sunday at various venues. Get out the RED, WHITE & BLUE and support the COBRAS as they strive for the Holy Grailmore

ROUND 20

What a cracking day of footy both A's & 18 winning on last kick of the day. 16's & C's winning, B's & 14's going down. Finals started for C grade this week with a 2 point semi final win they advance to GF in a fortnight. All Saturday sides kick off next week in first week of finals. Great year by club thus far. Now the serious business starts.more

COBRAS v Cockledivers

Port Noarlunga and Cove meet at the Port with both certain to make the finals.
Port lost narrowly to Noarlunga last week and will be keen to hold its place in the top four. Cove will be looking to cement 6th position. Travis Josh Ramsey, on the back of 16 goals last week, is a danger for Cove.

Josh Vick State Country Captain 2012

Conratulations to Josh Vick on being named Captain of South Australia in the Landmark Australian Country Football Championships in Wagga Wagga from July 19 to 22. Josh has been a long time servant of Cove, SFL, Zone and State Teams. There are some exciting things happening this year at the Cove FC. The club is making a full on tilt to regain lost ground and set about making Cove, the best and most progressive club in the south, ensuring a successful future. Cove Congratulates

Cove Football Club would like to congratulate  3 of our juniors who have succeeded in other sports over the off Season. Damon Kerr and Ben Millman on being selected in the South Australian under 15 State Cricket team, reprsenting South Australia in the National Championships in Hobart. At the completiion of the championships Damon Kerr was selected in the Australian Team to play in the United Arab Emirates against the West Indies and South Africa in November. In Snooker Jordan Mitchell won the Australian under 16 Championship in Canberra. Well done to all three boys on their achievments.

It is great to see our juniors achieve whether it be football, other sport or academically.

Geoff FARRUGIA

Cove Football Club congratulates Under 16 Coach Geoff FARRUGIA on being awarded the SANFL Under 16 Coach of the year for 2011. This award was presented to Geoff on Friday 11th November in front of 450 people at the 16th Annual SANFL Coaches Dinner Awards at AAMI Stadium. This is a true reward for Geoff and his coaching panel for all the work he and they put into developing young men and footballers at Cove Football Club.

One of Under 8 players Brodie Shortridge has unfortunately been dealt a bad card in life.

The Cove Football Club is proud to support the shortridge family in their quest to raise money for the Cancer Council.

2011 will see them enter the City to Bay Fun Run. Cove Football Club would like all our Players, Supporters and Sponsors to join Brodies team in the City to Bay Fun Run or simply donate. They have created a fund raising page on behalf of Brodie and have provided the link to the website.

If you can't walk with the team then a simple donation to help find a cure for Cancer will do more than you will every know.

In Season 2011 the Southern Football League is celebrating 125 years of football. The SFL has requested that each team within the SFL name the BEST TEAM of their history for inclusion in a book being produced by the SFL to celebrate these teams.

Cove Football Club in support of the Southern Football League celebrating it's 125 years of football are hosting a dinner on Saturday 16th April to name Coves best team ever....
