Umpiring is Everyones Business

Lets all Have a positive effect on the game.
Every season there is an umpire appreciation round.
This is a great initiative is to support some of the most important people on the ground who are our umpires.
Northvale encourages our players to consider joining the umpire ranks. Some our our junior players also earn extra pocket money by umpiring junior matches and running boundry for senior clubs.

During Umpire appreciation round
•Both teams line up prior to the start of the game and shake hands with the umpires
•Captains to ensure they shake the hands of umpires after the game
•Coaches to ensure they shake the hands of umpires before and after the game
•Ground announcements introducing the umpires and the fact it is Umpire Appreciation Round
•‘Silent theme’ whereby crowds are encouraged not to abuse umpires/players etc
