Getting Started

  • Our Junior football season is run between April and October

  • There is between 12 and 15 rounds depending on age group

  • Games are held on a Sunday generally with the younger age groups starting at 8:45 am through to afternoon games for the older age groups.

  • There is an upfront Club fee payment per player . (See registrations link on the Website for the required paperwork and season costs)  There are no weekly fees after this. The club provides a Northvale jumper to each player for the duration of the season which are to be handed back to the team manager at the completion of the last game of the season.

  • Fees are set on a sliding scale for families with 2 or more children playing at the club.

  • Other costs  - 2 pairs of footy shorts (red for home games and white for away games) . Shorts can be purchased through the club and will have the South Metro Junior Football League logo (Our Parent League)  and parents will need to purchase red footy socks and football boots from a sports store - Sportco waverley gardens offers a discount to Northvale players.
  • We have Sunday night Club nights generally fortnightly where the Coach's give their match reports , the canteen will have food for sale and the boys can have a kick on the oval prior to the presentations. For parent we also have a bar.
  • Northvale strongly supports the good sports initiative and the responsible serving of alcohol.

  • During the year there will be several events including Trivia nights and a Dinner Dance. We encourage parents to attend these functions and support the club as it helps us to keep our player fees as low as possible.

  • 18 Players on the ground and up to a maximum of 6 players on the bench.

  • Once we have received registrations numbers of 26 in a team the registrations for that team will be generally be closed. Additonal numbers over 26 will be reviewed by the committee as this may require a roster system for some rounds if a full side is available on a given week.. A player is considered registered when the signed parent approval forms are received and payment has been made.

  • If your Child is playing his/her first season of football we also need a photocopy of a birth certificate or other proof of age with the registration forms that is required for the league registration. Also for first season players we require the paperwork for the Metro south Junior football League registration form to be completed and authorised by the parent or guardian. This form will register your child into the national sportingpulse database which is the online system used for all Junior football leagues in Australia including fixtures , scores , and a record of games, teams and rounds played by each junior.
