What is Mini Hoops?

 

 

Mini Hoops is a series of structured programs explicitly developed for new children wanting to play the sport of basketball. It is designed for players aged between 4 and 11 years who have zero experience with organised games. Mini Hoops B.L.A.S.T teaches the rules and skills associated with playing basketball in a safe and fun environment. Players are taught how to enjoy the sport and play the game fairly, preparing them for a team in our organised club competition. Brisbane Basketball Inc. (BBI) and North Brisbane Basketball offers the following Mini Hoops B.L.A.S.T activities:

 

Mini Hoops - LEARNERS (4 - 7 years)

For our youngest players, this is a fun program which introduces children aged between 4 and 7 years to bouncing, throwing, shooting and teamwork activities on a modified court. The program is delivered at multiple venues in the after school timeslot. It runs during the school term but not during school holidays. All NEW participants will recieve the Mini Hoops pack with basketball, singlet and bag.

Mini Hoops – LEGENDS (7 - 11 years)

This introduction to basketball program aims to teach children aged between 7 and 11 years the skills and rules of the game. Players will have fun learning how to shoot, dribble and pass as they begin to play actual games of basketball. The program is delivered at multiple venues in the after school timeslot. It runs during the school term but not during school holidays. All NEW participants will recieve the Mini Hoops pack with basketball, singlet and bag.
