The Under 10's Breakers turn it on in front of 5000 people at Maroochydore

Pre-Season stepped up a notch for the Breakers Under 10's side on the weekend. The Under 10's played the first of their scheduled practice matches at half time of the Brisbane V Carlton game in front of 5000 passionate Breakers fans at Maroochydore.

It has been a very structured pre-season mapped out for the boys by coaches Ian 'Macca' McKinven, Peter 'Wal' Walsh, Jud 'Life-Size' Little and Rob 'The Dominator' Cowling.  Many key players were left out of the team that took the field wearing Lions jumpers on the weekend.  The players that were out there did a terrific job though.

"It's been a long pre-season and it was just good to get out there and find the footy", Breakers Under 10 Sunny Walsh said after the game.  Braydn Trahar who was dominant said, "we stuck to our structures which was important" (maybe he will coach the Breakers one day).  The confident Jack Elsley got through the game unscathed and later said "I looked great, felt great and I'm a terrific footballer".  While the more circumspect Jake Ingamells said, "The scoreboard wasn't a factor for us today, it was more about keeping my socks up".  A highlight of the game was Jacob Little marking on the last line of defence.  The modest Jacob simply said, "I think we can be happy with the team effort but we are about improving as a group".

The season starts for the Under 8's and 10's with a carnival at North Shore on Sunday 15th April.  On Thursday 5th April, the Under 10's will have their last hit out before the real stuff starts at the Gabba in front of about 35,000 people at half time of the Round 2 Brisbane V Carlton game. The coaches will be looking to take a full squad down to Brisbane for that game so everybody keep an eye out for emails on that one or talk to the coaches over the coming weeks for further details.
