Federation Youth Teams
Federation Youth Teams
To continue to provide a football pathway for our juniors a youth development programme was initiated by the club.
Claudelands Rovers youth teams will play in the WaiBOP federation youth league on Sundays. Football in this league is played at a very high level, it is for gifted players and has 11 players aside. Play is followed by after match food and speeches so it requires good commitment from both parents and players.
We are entering the following teams for passionate youth players in the U12, U14, Under 16 Boys competition, and the Under 16 Girls competition. At this time WaiBOP do not offer a Federation competition for younger female players, we are hoping these will be introduced next year.
Boys Federation youth U12 - players born 2005 / 2006
Boys Federation youth U14 - players born 2003 / 2004
Boys Federation youth U16 - players born 2001 / 2002
Girls Federation youth U16 - players born 2001 / 2002 / 2003
We are offering a full Youth Development Program for these teams.
This program will be run by Claudelands Rovers and lead by Rodi Rojas with a team of highly skilled and experienced coaches with a South American flair. You can read more about some of the coaches below. Given the coaches international experience the Program will draw on internationally recognised academies, South American football skills as well as incorporating NZ Football Youth Development guidelines.
The Program will be a staged pathway through the various age groups covering disciplines such as:
- Game Knowledge
- Stretching and injury prevention
- Strengthening and core development
The Program will run from late February to November. The core participants of this Youth program will form the under 12, 14 and 16 boys federation teams and the Under 16 Girls Federation team - there will be trails for these.
