Oratia, to their credit, although on the back foot, didn’t pack the goal with a ten man defence as many other sides are wont to do and this allowed Bays to open the scoring in the 19th minute.
A free kick was won just outside the penalty area, Morgan-Howell took the kick, placed it on George Suri’s head and he steered the ball wide of the keeper and into the top corner of the net.
Jason McKeown was then denied by the keeper and Dan Peat was unable to latch on to a Morgan-Howell cross before Morgan-Howell doubled the score as he latched on to a Leigh Kenyon pass and made no mistake one on one with the keeper.
Bays continued to press by couldn’t add to the score before the half time whistle.
Oratia opened the second half brightly and would have scored if Aidan Gwilt hadn’t been alert to make a fine save at the near post after the defence missed a cross that should have been cleared.
This woke Bays up and Bresnahan’s header from a Morgan-Howell cross grazed the crossbar and McKeown ghosted through only to see the keeper, get a hand to the ball and divert it for a corner.
The third goal arrived after 52 minutes and it was a beauty. Morgan-Howell cut down the left flank, crossed the ball to the far post where Glen Forrest was lurking and he powered a header into the net.
Oratia kicked off, lost possession and Van Rooyen placed a delicate chip beyond the keeper to make it 4-0.
It became 5-0 a few minutes later. The keeper has made two good saves to deny Peat and Kenyon but had no chance with a Ryan Zoghby header from another Morgan-Howell free kick.
Kenyon blasted wide after two goal line clearances but got on the scoresheet when Morgan-Howell made a run down the left flank and cut the ball back for Kenyon to pick his spot in the corner of the net.
Just when it seemed that Bays would run rampant, the goals dried up. Most of the remainder of the game saw Bays on attack and Oratia defending but they couldn’t add to the score.
A fine team effort but praise to Dan Morgan-Howell who scored one but had four assists.

Bays had the ball in the Oratia net within 15 seconds of kickoff only to be denied by an offside flag. The attacks continued with Shaun Van Rooyen rattling the crossbar with a fierce drive, Dan Morgan-Howell having a shot blocked and Joe Bresnahan being denied by the keeper.
