ECB 1 Birkenhead United 0 played 09/06/2007

The return match against Birkenhead was a much tighter affair than the one earlier in the season at Shepherd"s Park which saw an eight goal feast. The only goal of the match came just after the half hour following some back and forth football with both sides creating opportunities. George Suri surged forward, the keeper only partly blocked his shot and Nick Hyde was on hand to tap the ball into the net. Suri was in action minutes later at the other end, clearing the ball off the line as Birkenhead fought back but half time saw Bays ahead 1-0. The second half saw Birkenhead create the first chances but good goalkeeping by Sam Jewell ensured a clean sheet while at the other end of the park, Dan Peat was denied three times and Ryley Webster, Joe Bresnahan and Daniel Morgan-Howell were also foiled by resolute defending. Good games by Sam Jewell in goal and Ryan Zoghby in defence with Ryley Webster, Nick hyde and Leigh Kenyon keeping a grip on midfield, with Dan Peat giving all up front. Team: Jewell, Forrest, Suri, Zoghby, Bell, Hyde, Kenyon, Munoz (Morgan-Howell 63), Webster, Bresnahan (Broderson 88), Peat Scorers: Hyde 33
