Bays were given a fright by an energetic Oratia side who took the game to the league leaders from the start. An early Jeff Campbell free kick was turned for a corner and Oratia hit the crossbar in the twelfth minute following a poor clearance form the Bays keeper. The visitors took the lead just before the half hour after Bays gave away a free kick about 30 metres out. Oratia"s Brad Harden saw Sam Jewell off his line and blasted a rocket into the top of the net. Bays increased pressure on Oratia but had to wait until the 38th minute to equalise. Winning a free kick it was quickly taken by Leigh Kenyon, who passed the ball to Arek Kubicki who shot through a crowd of defenders past an unsighted keeper. Then three minutes before the break Oratia regained the lead. A through ball found Sasha Lafeki who outpaced the defence and gave Jewell no chance. A stern talking to at half time saw Bays emerge a different side and they kept Oratia pinned in their own half. Campbell had a shot saved by the keeper but just on the hour his corner kick found Ryan Zoghby who headed home the equaliser. Bays were now dominating the game and five minutes later took the lead for the first time following a great run by Kubicki. His cross found Dan Peat who smacked home from close range. The corners were piling up but Oratia held firm in defence and Campbell was again denied by the upright. The with just four minutes remaining, Oratia won their first corner of the game. jewell called for it but missed the cross and then Storie headed in the equaliser from close in. Bays attacked straight from the kick off. The ball was played out. Avi Estrin took the throw, it went long and Kenyon was there to bundle it over the line and save face for Bays.
