ECB 4 Oratia United 0 played 23/08/2008

East Coast Bays rounded off the championship with an emphatic 4-0 win over Oratia on a first class pitch at Parrs Park to finish the league 17 points ahead of second placed Waitakere City. A Ryley Webster cross in the first minute should have led to the first goal but Arek Kubicki missed the chance. Scoring opened in the 17th minute when a Jeff Campbell drive from 25 metres blazed in to the top of the net giving the Oratia keeper no chance. The Bays defence was found wanting several minutes later and almost conceded an own goal as Aidan Gwilt was forced to parry a misshit clearance for a corner. Avi Estrin, Joe Bresnahan and Jason McKeown were all denied but the latter"s strike was turned for a corner which Campbell hit to the back post for George Suri to head home. Campbell was denied twice more before the break, hitting the upright on one occasion and Webster saw his drive blocked by the keeper before right on the whistle a McKeown cross was tapped in by Kubicki to give Bays a 2-0 lead at the break. The second half was dominated by Bays. Just before the hour another Campbell cross found its way into the net but was disallowed, allegedly for offside. With ten minutes remaining, a pass from Leigh Kenyon put Jack Beguely away and his pass found Daniel Morgan-Howell who made no mistake from in front. Bays continued their dominance as time ran out. Team: Gwilt, Forrest, Hyde, Suri, Estrin, Kenyon, Campbell, Bresnahan (Morgan-Howell 54), Webster, Kubicki (Beguely 69), McKeown (McArdle 76). Scorers: Campbell 17, Suri 37, Kubicki 45, Morgan-Howell 80
