The Premiers and Development team have finished their season.
There was a lot of interest in how Bays would react to last weeks defeat. Training had been intense with the team adopting a more direct approach than that used in previous games. This was demonstrated after just three minutes when Daniel Morgan-Howell was put through only to see his shot turned for a corner. Bays were applying the pressure to a young Hibiscus side, who were defending desperately but struggling to get the ball over half way before it came back at them again. They finally cracked after twenty minutes when Morgan-Howell drove home from ten metres. Two minutes later a long throw from Ryan Zoghby had the defence at sixes and sevens and Joe Bresnahan got his head to ball and put it in the back of the net. Bays up 2-0. The pressure continued, Michael Bell hit the outside netting from a cross, the keeper saved at the feet of Morgan-Howell. With just six minutes until the break, Morgan-Howell struck a left foot drive from 30 metres which sailed into the top corner of the net and the game was effectively over. Morgan-Howell had the chance of his hat trick three minutes later when put through by Bresnahan but his shot was wide. With the seconds counting down until he break, Dan Peat unleashed from 25 metres, His shot cleared the keeper and found the top of the net giving Bays a 4-0 half time lead. It was more of the same in the second half but with less intensity. Goal number five arrived just before the hour when a Leigh Kenyon pass put Peat through on goal. He kept his composure and picked his spot. With Bays dominance complete, Willy gave some of the bench players a run. Hibs players defended well and conceded many corners which Bays were unable to take advantage of. A super team effort with some spectacular goals unfortunately spoilt by an assistant referee who sadly wasn"t up to the job, making the job of the man in the middle very difficult.
