Life Member Passes - Jack Braithwaite RIP

The club is sad to announce the passing of life member Jack Braithwaite at the age of 97. Jack, a talented footballer in his early years, emigrated to New Zealand in the 1950's, buying land in Albany when it was just farmland. Moving to Mairangi Bay he became involved with the fledgling East Coast Bays club both as a follower and administrator. His passion for the game often got him offside with officialdom as his booming voice echoed across Mairangi Park, encouraging players and "assisting" the officials. He took great delight in following the fortunes of son Andy and grandson Chris who both played for the Bays first team. Jack was also a talented dance band musician and composer, leading bands both in England and New Zealand. Our sincere condolences are extended to his wife and family

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
