The Premiers and Development team have finished their season.
Two games in three days seemed to have caught up with East Coast Bays as they turned in a subdued performance drawing 1-1 with Forrest Hill Milford on Anzac Day.
The visitors were quicker to get into the game and pressed the Bays defence but Zane Olla had the first strike on goal, volleying over from outside the penalty area. Forrest Hill replied through Jamie Mason but he headed wide from in front.
Dylan Stansfield had the ball in the net only to be ruled offside and minutes later Dillon Barnett saw his chance nullified by the assistant’s flag. Bays were starting to dominate, but strikes were off target (Barnett, McKeown twice, Stansfield), or blocked by the defence (Mobberley three times).
Half time arrived with the game scoreless.
Forrest Hill again got off to a good start with Scott Campbell having one chance blocked and another off target. At the other end, Jacob Spoonley pulled off two good saves to deny Logan Archer and Stansfield.
Just short of the hour, Forrest Hill had the ball in the net but it was ruled out for a foul on the keeper and Michael Williams saved an Adam Dickinson strike minutes later.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 69th minute. Forrest Hill won a corner, the ball was hit to the far post, not cut out and Alex Howard bundled the ball into the net.
Eight minutes later, a Joe Bresnahan pass found Stansfield, who lost his marker, bore down on goal and beat Spoonley to level the scores.
The final minutes saw Spoonley pull off saves to deny Kieran McMinn and Stansfield, but neither team could get the winner.
