8th Grade in first Tournament

Last Sunday ECB sent an 8th grade team to the Fencables tournament.

Due to weather conditions the tournament was moved to William Green astro turf.

This meant for a compact and well run tournament.

Our first game got off to a poor start with Ashton unable to make it as his parents were too sick to attend.

So we started with 9 players.  The games were 7 aside with goal keepers which is a new concept for most of the team and it did not start well.  We lost the first game 8 . 3.

So after a discussion in the break the boys were keen to improve and improve they did.

We won the next game 5 . 0

We went to the quarter final in high spirits but came unstuck with an 8.0 loss.

A good talk to the boys identified where we were going wrong.

We entered the plate semi and duly won 3 .0

In the plate final we won 4.0

Well done boys.

The two teams to beat us played the final with a score line of 5 . 2.

We can’t wait for the Glenfield tournament in a few weeks.

Team: Jayden, Dylan, Eeshan, Billy, Jack, Mikey, Oshin and Mario
