RIP - Steve Gove

Steve Gove lost his short battle with cancer yesterday, devastating club members who knew him and regarded him as a friend. Before emigrating to New Zealand, Steve played Highland League football for Cove Rangers. Joining East Coast Bays, he was a prolific striker for the Premier side over 2002 - 2004 before extending his career as both player and coach with Hibiscus Coast, Albany and Warkworth.

He returned to Bays in a coaching capacity for a short time a couple of years ago and also played for Archies Army and Brownsons before joining Warkworth.

The club extends its deepest sympathy to Fiona and family.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
