9th Grade Development Team at Albany

Reporting on yesterday's tournament at Albany for our 9th Development Team.
The boys turned up for the first game looking fresh and putting in place a good
team performance winning 2-1 over Warkworth Wasps. They then went on to control
the next match against Hibiscus Coast and finish with a 1-0 win. The final
match of the pool was against Glenfield Rovers and once again they controlled
this game and had another 1-0 win finishing top of their pool and the only
other team to go through pool play to the Cup 1/4 finals unbeaten.
In the 1/4 we again controlled the game against Greenhithe A, but again failed
to get a goal past their keeper even in extra time who has proved very
difficult this season and even more of a challenge with the small goals at
Albany. It went down to a penalty shoot out and ended after 14 shots at each
keeper with our GK Mason Bycroft letting one thru. A disappointing finish for
our boys, but
an outstanding effort from both GK.
A lot of positives for our developing players.
