The Premiers and Development team have finished their season.
Good game of football with both teams putting together some attractive passing but at the end a flatness and feeling they had been robbed by some inconsistent refereeing decisions.
Central had the first chanced of the game with a free kick in the first minute but the shot was just wide. Bays replied minutes later with a great move involving Mikael Munday, Nathan Palmer, Kelly Escolme and Dan Peat that took the ball from the Bays goal line into the Central penalty area and required an outstanding save by Blaz Bulgarin to deny Peat
Palmer and Munday both had chances denied while at the other end Jack Beguley was on hand to block Emiliano Tade.
Both sides were turning on some good football and Bulgarin was at this best to save from Scott Campbell and then pull off another outstanding save to deny a Jason McKeown drive.
Play wasn’t all in the one direction and a break by Daniel Koprivcic and Luis Corrales resulted in Bays having to concede a series of corners before Corrales put over the bar to relieve the pressure. Seamus Casey had to be alert to deny Corrales in the last minutes of the half as the rain came in to dampen an already dismal day.
Central started the second half meaning business and Casey was called upon to deny Paul Urlovic and Tade.
A Bays attack in the 53rd minute saw Joe Bresnahan finally break the deadlock with a fine header only to be denied by a questionable offside flag.
A squall then further dampened spirits on the sideline but the good standard of football continued on the field as play surged from end to end. Munday kept the keeper on his toes and Beguely was wide, while at the other end Urlovic was wide and Tade denied twice while Jason Hicks saw his shot rebound off the upright.
Then entering the final ten minutes disaster struck for Bays when Tade was put through down the left flank and he scored with a low hard drive into the corner of the net.
Bays poured everything into the last ten minutes but were unable to breach the Central defence.
