Championship Glory at Clendon for 9th A1

Early in the day nobody could of foreseen that our 9th grade boys would of come home with Championship Glory. We turned up to seriously undersized pitches, conceded a controversial draw vs Hibiscus Coast and a loss to Eastern Suburbs Gold in the pool round.  The quarterfinals was a nail-biting golden goal clash between two Bays teams (A1 and the Reserve Team), it was this win that woke the A1 boys up to take on Bucklands Beach in the Semi's, the 2 zip win took us into the Championship Final!   Congratulations also to the 9th Grade Development Team who came first in their pool.   This put them through to the quarter finals where they played the ECB A1 team.   After a narrow extra-time loss to the top team, they went on to win their semi and then narrowly lose the Shield final.

A classic Northshore clash awaited, meeting Forest Hill for the first time this season...It was gloves off and in to battle - and what a battle it was. Nil - Nil after full time and then onto Golden Goal again! You could of blinked and missed it, because within seconds of the starting whistle the lads made a bee-line to the goal and slotted the winner.  Congratulations to Giles and the team for another great tournament effort! The club awaits another Clendon trophy to add to the collection (after it's done the rounds at school).  Well done also to our 8th Grade A1 team, ECB Wood for winning the Plaque Final in this ‘9th grade tournament!
