2011

  • Three senior ladies temas Div 1, Div 2 and Div 4 with temas all finishing within the top half of their league and the Ladies Div 1 team winning the Plate in the Federation One Plate competition and coming 2nd in their league which may see them promoted for the 2012 season.
  • Two youth girls teams,  13th and 15th grade both playing in the AFF/NFF combined leagues and finishing 1st and 2nd in their league respectively.
  • Two junior girls teams, 10th grade playing in the NFF girls league and both improved significantly throughout the season

Planned Initiatives

  • Proposed Girls Only Teams for 2012

o   9th,  10th, and 11th/12th grade girls only teams – it is expected there may be multiple teams in some of these grades

o   13th grade

o   14/15th grade

o   17th grade

With a view to having at least one girl’s team in each grade and teams developed to play at the girls Metro level in the combined league by 2014.

Girls will be encouraged to play girls only from 13th grade to ensure development of these players and teams.  If you would like your daughter to play in one of these teams can you please mark on your registration form otherwise you will be contacted by the relevant Convenor after registration.

  • Coaching:

o   To identify and train coaches for these teams through 2012 so they are in place for the 2013 season.

o   To align coaching practices with the overall coaching philosophy developed at East Coast Bays

o   To ensure Goalkeeper training is part of the training offered

o   To provide specific expert coaches (running, fitness and conditioning) where required

o   Hold regular coaches meetings to ensure consistency across the grades

  • Summer Training Camps:

o   Offered to all girls in each grade

o   As numbers increase use these training camps as a basis for selection for the first and development teams throughout the grades.

  • Girls  Only Day:

o   A “girls only” day is planned for the July school holidays. This will be an open day and friends and others not necessarily associated with East Coast Bays are encouraged to attend.

o   It is anticipated this day will have guest speakers, further information regarding girls development as well as coaching and skills work for the girls.

o   Further information will be sent out regarding this day closer to the time.

  • Girls only Summer Soccer League:

o   Develop a girls only summer football league and promote through schools and other clubs for the 2012/2013 summer league season

  • Information Evenings

o   Hold information evenings to advise parents of the pathway for girls at East Coast Bays

o   Keep players and parents informed of the transition from one grade to the next regarding team and field size

  • Co-operation with other North Shore Clubs

o   Work closely with other North Shore clubs to provide a pathway for talented players

o   Appoint a talent scout to identify these players

  • Academy for Talented Players

o   As numbers permit offer an academy for talented players

o   Develop these players with a view to play in the East Coast Bays Ladies premier team when age permits
