Ladies Div 1 End Season on a High

The ladies 1st team have ended off a good season with second place in Division 1 as well as taking out the Plate in the Women’s Federation One Cup.

There were some great performances throughout the year in the league with just 3 slip ups resulting in second spot for the team. One of the positives of the year was the outstanding defence letting in the least number of goals in the league. Golden boot went down to the last game of the year with only 1 goal the difference with Jess McKimm scoring in the last game.

The run for the plate saw the team beating 3 teams from divisions higher than theirs. They beat North Shore 1-0 and then a nail biting 9-8 penalties victory over Whangarei Premiers to set up a final against the Woman Championship West Auckland team. Bays ladies were too good on the day scoring 2 quick goals after halftime to beat West Auckland 3-1 and take out the plate.

Well done to everyone involved in the season, and well done to the players. A great effort this year.
