When is the season?
The Junior & Youth AFL season runs from March to September.
When and where is training?
Training is at St Benedicts College Oval (entry off Anzac Avenue).
Where do the teams play?
The club is part of the Northern District Competition, with teams playing at home and at various locations throughout the Northern District (e.g. Caboolture, Narangba, Redcliffe, Strathpine, Aspley).
From what age can kids start playing?
Players can start playing in Roy's Junior team if they turn 5 in the year they register. Children can play Auskick from age four.
Can boys and girls play?
Both boys and girls can play in the same team up to and including under 12s. AFL Queensland requires separate teams for boys and girls from under 13s onwards.
Do you have an Auskick program?
Yes, AFL Brisbane Juniors will run an Auskick program on Saturday mornings from 8am
Do you have a presentation day at the end of the season?
Yes, all players and their family are invited to a presentation day at the end of the season. All players receive a trophy or medal along with a photo of their team.
Can I help coach my child’s team?
Volunteer coaches and assistant coaches are sought at the start of each season. If you are interested in coaching, please indicate this on your family details form when registering.
How can I help out around the club?
The club is based on support from volunteer family and friends. Here are some ways you can be involved:
- committee member
- coach, assistant coach, helping at training
- team manager or first aid attendant
- setting up the field at home games
- goal attendant during games
