After a breakthrough win against Highett Coach, Coach Hughes challenged the team to collect the scalps of teams above us. Chelsea Heights (is there a hill in Chelsea?) fitted the criteria and proved a good challenge. The side was bolstered by the return of Mark Williams, Brendan Ashman and Lukas Bray, which off set the loss of big Ty during the week.
At the main break the good demons led by only two points, which was not a true reflection of how we were playing, given that Chelsea had made more of its opportunities than we had. The second half saw us maintain our attack and get the rewards. When Chubba Wells slotted through the sealer late in the game, we had piled on eight goals to two in the second half, to record a 33 point victory.
Dean Kovacic was tower of strength in the ruck providing a great target around the ground and first use of the ball for the midfield. Adam Nichols had plenty of the ball as the did Brad and Nigel Scott, whilst Travis Skidmore continued his good form. The backline was well led by Waata, whilst at the other end, Willo finished with four.
Rile Rileys reserves also continued on their winning way, finishing 87 points to the good of Chelsea Heights. Good players were plentiful with Steve Aitken finishing a great game with 5 goals, whilst the coach helped himself to 4. Kris Thompson, Luke Woolrich, Tate McKee and John Charles also enjoyed a good game along with captain Jarrod Swan.
