Milestone Achievers Profiles
Top of the list is Chops Langkau, still appears for the occasional game and entertains us all with his "Helicopter" kicks at goal and his Kevin Bartlett type handball stats when within 200 meters of goal.
Chops not only played 242 games but has worked hard behind the scenes, serving on committees, coached the Seniors for 5 years and also the Reserves for a few more. He practically lived at Princes Park, quite often sleeping in the clubrooms and showering there before going to work.
Much of the Club Tradition can be attributed to Chops, a stalwart of Caulfield and the Southern Football League Played at Ashburton and Oakleigh District before crossing to the Bears in our inaugural Season of the "re-birth" of the Caulfield Football Club in 1993more -->
Roddy crossed to the Bears with Chops back in the olden days and served the Club well on the field and kept us all entertained off the field with his humour and antics. Roddy also served on the committee and gave us 5 years as President where he steered the Club away from possible extinction to become a well established member of the Southern Football League. Running a painting company with his brother and raising a young family as well finally took it's toll (along with his age), and Roddy retired after the end of the 2009 season.
Still can be seen at the Club from time to time and if he is there you wont have to look too far to find Chops, they share a special friendship which has helped to mould the friendly atmosphere at our fine club.more -->
Cam played 206 games for the Bears and in his younger days thrilled us all with his spectacular high marking and dashing runs from the backline, but give him the ball in front of goals and more often than not he showed us why he was a great backman! Spent his last years at the Club in the"Magoos" and quite often arrived as the ball was about to be bounced due to commitments with AusKick. Has since left the club to play at Ashwood but is always welcome at the Bear Cave as one of our favourite sons
(Apologies to Cam for the photo, I don't seem to have a decent picture of him, even though there is a resemblance in the profile pic that is posted!)more -->
Shaine "Packo" Munro is another of the hard working "characters" at the Bears. He played his football down back almost all his career and had the ability to always seem to be in the right place at the right time and had a great ability to take a mark, especially in contested situations. Shaine also gave many years on the committee and assisted with coaching duties in the Reserves one year. Great mates with all the members, Shaine recently married his sweet heart Lucy, and I'm sure when there is the pitter patter of little cub paws, they will be wearing the Bears colours.more -->
