Did the Earth move for you?
There we were watching the Reserves, Round 1 v Oakleigh District, the game was going through one of those flat patches where nothing much was happening. Cam Walker, soon to be our next 200 game player (197 games since 1995), but because he was lacking fitness due to a severe shortage of training runs, was acting as Runner and returning to the bench after delivering a message on the field. The other player in this drama was Grant (GB) Bradford, the only player at Caulfield who first played in 1993 when the club was reborn and still playing today (130 games). Grant was resting on the interchange bench and had been given his orders to take the field, so up he gets and starts running to the back line, which coincidently was where Cam was returning from. Grant got 20 yards from the interchange area, Cam had 20 yards to make it back to the interchange area, one mountain running (?) one way, one the other. Unfortunately, neither was looking in the direction they were travelling when ...... CRUNCH .... both collided and went to ground, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. I tell you here and now, it would not have mattered if they did not laugh, everyone in the crowd was too busy laughing for (at) them! It was just a pity that the Bears TV camera man was taking a toilet break at the time.
