Hi All Junior Parents & Players,

The Junior Committee have been working on a number of things over the past month and are very excited about the year ahead.

The 2013 Committee consists of the following;

Junior President       Brett Bowey

Vice President         Mark Johnson

Secretary                Luke Crocker

Committee             Gill Goode, Steve Batchelor, Simon Eccles

We are always looking for people to help out for the season ahead, no matter how small the task. Please contact any of the above people if you can assist.

New Number 1 Ticket Holder

For those who do not already know, Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle has agreed to be Highett Football Club’s number 1 ticket holder this year. ‘Sids’ has already been down to the club to check us out and is looking forward to coming back down to say hi after he has helped bring the Ashes home this winter!

Registration Day & Season Launch

Sunday 17th February

At Highett Football Club

11.00am – 2.00pm

Registration Fees

1 Child = $170

2 Children = $120

3 Children = $70

Socks and White Shorts are included in the fees.

We request that all parents re-register their kids via our NEW online site with credit card facility prior to this day. This will save our volunteers a lot of administration time and allow them to focus more on tasks that will ensure our kids get the most out of 2013. There will be no paper registration forms available, however we will have laptops available for you to re-register if you haven’t done so prior to the day.

This will also make our registration day more of a pre-season catch up, where everyone can meet their coaches, enjoy a snag and have a kick with their mates.

An email will follow in the next couple of days outlining the process.

Social Calendar

This year we will be trying a few new things

Monthly awards nights. Last Sunday every month for May – August

Friday Night Football Screenings. The first Friday of every month the clubrooms and bar will be open and the game showed on the big screen. All welcome

Dads night and a Mums night. Details TBC

Once the social calendar is finalised, a copy will be available.

The Junior Football Club has its own facebook page

We will be actively using Facebook to communicate to Parents and players old enough to be on FB, as well as our normal email and website channels.

Girls Team

We have a handful of girls who would like to form a Junior Girls Team. If we have enough expressions of interest we will take registrations, we would love to have the girls represent Highett Football Club in 2013!

Please let us know if you are interested by emailing your details (name and age group) to

Under 17’s

With no team in the under 16’s last year we are working hard this year to bring those players and parents back to the club. The first training run is Monday 4th February and we would like to see as many there as possible. Mark Prosser and myself will be taking the training session @ 6pm at HFC

Sponsorship Pack

We have a new sponsorship pack and have already attracted interest from organisations that are looking to come onboard in season 2013. If you would like to learn more or know of other people or organisations that may be interested in a mutually beneficial partnership in 2013, please email highettjuniorfc@gmail.comfor a copy.

Season Dates

Round one kicks off on Sunday 14th April. The SMJFL have not published full fixtures yet.

Practice matches will be on the 24th of March and 7th of April, more details will be sent through shortly.

This is just a quick update on where the clubs is at right at this present time. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Remember this is YOUR club and we are looking for as much involvement as possible to make 2013 the best year ever for the Bulldogs! Don’t be shy!
