Greetings from MOCFC May 16th 2008

Greetings Everyone from MOCFC,

Last Saturday, the seniors bounced back in emphatic style with a 38 point over Whitefriars in the VAFA Rivalry Round and in the process retained the WHK Horwarth Cup. The ressies had 10 more scoring shots than the opposition however took all day to get over a persistent Whitefriars outfit. The U19's put on a clinic on Central # 2 as they demolished Old Mentonians by 136 pts (kicking 25 goals after 1/4 time !!) The word from C18 is that the scores are not reflecting their improvement and competitiveness and Darren McMullin in particular was on fire as he kicked 5 of Mazenod's 6 goals against Prahran in a 10 goal loss.

This weeks games are as follows :

Senior & Reserve vs Ajax, Central Reserve
U19 vs Collegians, Harry Trott Oval, Village Green Drive, Albert Park, 58A8
C18 vs Old Melburnians, Albert Park #1, 2PB3
Panthers vs Ringwood, Parkville 10am (Sunday)

Congratulations to Byron Bonner, Scott Veltman and Colby Dickson for being selected in VAFA representative squads in 2008.

Over the last couple of weeks we have been unfortunate to receive some major injuries however the good news is that the boys are on the road to recovery. Dave Maskill and Dave Regan both have broken collar bones and their incidents were managed in exemplary fashion by our amazing group of trainers. This year we are fortunate to have Emily Hayes, Lachlan Allen, Michael O'Connor and Claire Souter joining the club to work with our equally amazing Denise Kelly, Chris Kelly, Kevin Chamberlain and John Oldman and Amy Duke. Those people come to the fore in the serious situations so please give them every assistance and praise as they look after our injured players.

Glad to report that the website is almost back to full strength after having some cosmetic work completed. We expect to have all the features completed in the next week and will be adding some more history and pictures. www.mocfcvic.org.au
