Greetings from everyone at MOCFC.

Greetings from everyone at MOCFC.

VAFA has finalised its fixtures for 2008 and the Round 1 on 12th April  sees the following match ups :

Seniors and Reserves vs Ormond at EE Gunn Reserve

U19 vs Ormond at Central Reserve

C18 vs Uni Blues at Central Reserve

Full draws are available at and will be also available on our membership cards available shortly.

The clubrooms will see some positive changes in 2008 that hopefully will be appreciated by players and supporters alike.

At this stage, all work is aimed for completion prior to our first home game and we are optimistic that all will be impressed with the new

look and new features. All will be revealed in early April.

Club training continues to grow as players emerge from the long summer.

The March 2008 schedule has been published on the website.

On the team front we are interested to hear from anyone who may not be able to commit for the entire year but is fit, and willing to participate in our Club18 team.

Club 18 is a division of the VAFA which was originally established to accommodate the more "social" side of footy clubs. In

reality however it also serves as a valuable team to assist players returning from long term injury and allow players to have a game of

football when not selected in the Senior or Reserve XVIII.

The club has been fortunate to have a core group of men committed to this team however a combination of travel, age, and other

committments has meant that our preliminary numbers are looking light for season 2008.

Wishing to field a full team of 18 players plus 6 interchange each week, we seek feedback from interested players throughout our huge network.

If you, or someone you know are interested in playing please contact Simon Fisher (E :, M : 0409 219 981).

The club embarked on a long term strategic direction some years ago to

operate bingo at the Mulgrave Country Club with the aim of securing

stable income for capital works. Paul Noone, Rod Hubbard and Peter

Hanley have been the cornerstones behind this initiative however need

support in maintaining a roster for 2 hours attendance (easy) once every

6 months. The roster has become problematic because of numerous no-shows

with no warning. Can we ask everyone to bear this in mind when

committing to this major source of financial security (bearing in mind

the personal committment of Paul/Peter and Rod). If this easy task

appeals to anyone not on the roster currently please contact Paul Noone

Snr (9560 9731 or or Brendan McCusker 9790

Finally our thoughts go out to the King and Quinn families who have lost

family members in the last week.
